NATIONAL Olympic gold medallist Keshorn Walcott will host a party titled “Nepenthe” this Saturday, of which proceeds will go towards another party he plans to host specifically for children in December.

SHANIQUA Bascombe closed the NGC/NAAA National Junior Championships with a five-medal haul, the most of any athlete at the event, after taking two relay silver medals and the Girls Under-17 200m gold.

Sprinter Warren Weir, the 2012 Olympic 200m bronze medalist, has been selected to represent Jamaica at Rugby Sevens at the CAC Games in Colombia from July 10 to August 3.

ON GOOD form and in peak condition, Commonwealth and national champion Michelle-Lee Ahye has her eyes set on a third consecutive 100m and 200m sprint double at the NGC/Sagicor NAAA National Open Championships, which starts tomorrow and concludes on Sunday.

IT WAS a clean sweep for athletics, in both the Seniors and Juniors categories, at last evening’s First Citizens Sports Foundation Sports Personalities of the Year 2017 Awards, at Queen’s Hall, St Ann’s.
