OVER 5,000 casual and seasoned runners will challenge the fourth annual Guardian Group SHINE 5K and 10K Charity Walk and Run, which takes place tomorrow at Nelson Mandela Park, St Clair, from 4 pm.

Mission accomplished said the exhausted but happy Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) Vice President, Diane Henderson.  Yesterday (18 November), Henderson successfully completed the greuling Ironman Distance Triathlon in Cozumel, Mexico.

The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) in partnership with BAFA Sports (By Athletes For Athletes) will join together for the launch of its pilot project #GetMovingTTO on Monday 19thNovember, 2018.

On Sunday 18 November 2018, Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) Vice President Diane Henderson will participate in her second Ironman (IM) Distance Triathlon. Henderson, the Human Resources IR Officer at Angostura Limited, will travel to Cozumel, Mexico to tackle the gruelling three part race covering a total distance of 140.6 miles.

Two people are dead following an accident on the Beetham Highway on Saturday morning. 

Preliminary reports indicate that the accident took place just before 7 am today on the shoulder of the eastbound lane of the Beetham Highway.

A group of cyclists from the Slipstream Cycling Club was ploughed into by a motorist.

British expat Joanna Banks, a manager at BP, died on the scene and Chef Joe Brown, executive chef at Jaffa at the Oval succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment for critical injuries. 

Ten of the other cyclists have been transferred to the hospital.

The driver of the car that mowed down the cyclists told police that his tyre blew out and he lost control of the vehicle.

He reportedly passed a breathalyser test administered at the scene.
