AFTER being unable to send teams to the previous two legs, Trinidad and Tobago will be represented by two pairs when the NORCECA (North, Central America and the Caribbean) Beach Volleyball Tour resumes after a two-month break on Friday in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Rheeza Grant will be accompanied by Abby Blackman and Abraham Eccles will play alongside Joel Theodore in the three-day tournament.

Blackman and Grant have been the country’s top female players on the sand this year, winning the second tournament staged by the Trinidad and Tobago Volleyball Federation (TTVF) in June after just being edged for the top spot in the first a couple months earlier.

The two were selected to represent the country more than once in a NORCECA tournament in the last year, but were unable to make the trips because of financial constraints.

And it is for this same reason why T&T was not represented in the last two stages of this year’s circuit, in the first tournament in Jamaica in close to a decade in late June and two weeks later in the fourth leg in Cuba.
